Skincare
if you have sensitive skin, as a precaution use the range designed specifically for this skin type before progressing to other formulas.
There are 5 general types of skin. Although all products can be used on all skins, you can look at the products and chose the one nearest your skin type.
Caution: Although Chery Lin Skin Therapy products are pure and natural, it is always advisable to test a new product for sensitivity and to check that a product is suitable for a particular skin type, especially for those with sensitive and reactive skin types. A basic skin test can be done at home by testing the product on a site where any dermatitis is not apparent. The back of the knees, on the forearm or behind the ears are suggested places. Unless you react immediately, test the product for a couple of days and check for itching, stinging, redness or a feeling of heat.
Any on-going skin problems should be checked out with your doctor who may advise seeing a dermatologist and referral for patch testing as a way of identifying which substance that comes in contact with the skin is causing inflammation of the skin (contact dermatitis).
Normal skin
If you have clear, smooth and finely textured skin, then you are lucky enough to have just the right amount of natural moisture. Using gentle cleansers, toners and moisturisers daily, and by treating your skin to regular exfoliating and deep moisturising treatments, your skin will look its enviable best.
Mature skin
Mature skin is characterised by its dull pallor and dry texture. Using rich, rejuvenating and moisturising daily treatments will help mature skin recapture some of its youthful spring. Cellular regeneration is key to a smooth and healthy complexion, so ensure your regular skincare routine includes weekly facial scrubs, exfoliating masks and regenerating and moisturising treatments.
Dry skin
Dry skin needs special care to ensure it gets plenty of moisture and protection against external and internal conditions, such as cold and harsh weather, central heating and air conditioning. Use richer cleansers, toners and moisturisers daily to keep skin supple and healthy. Compliment your regime with regular care treatments such as gentle exfoliations and facials to soothe and soften dry or rough skin.
Oily skin
Oily skins need particular care as the tendency is to over use treatments that leave the skin dry in patches with an oily imbalance. Avoid harsh astringents and instead use gentle cleansers, toners and moisturisers on a daily basis to help control oiliness. Exfoliating treatments, facial steams and treatment masks all help deeply cleanse oily skin, but do not use more than twice a week.
Sensitive skin
Sensitive skin requires special care. Use very gentle products for your daily cleansing and moisturising regime. Look for anti-inflammatory and protective ingredients to help calm and soothe irritated, dry and sore skin. Treat your skin on a regular basis, but ensure that the products you use do not contain harsh ingredients. Facial scrubs are not recommended for this skin type.
